Birthday Weekend Pictures

Tim and Brayden shared their birthdays with us this year by renting a cabin at Acorns Resort at Milford Lake.  The weather was beautiful and the cabin exceeded our expectations.  Wes and Kristin were gracious enough to bring their boat too.  The weekend included Brayden's first fishing experience where beginners' luck caught him fish on each of his first two attempts.  Brayden screamed and cried hysterically when the fish would came out of the water!  He also enjoyed his first boat ride.  He was pretty timid and unsure at first but eventually forced a little smile.  Uncle Wes let him "drive" the boat and Aunt Kristin showed him how to work the horn.

Brayden's party was basketball themed.  He wore his K-State basketball warm-ups and purple crocs.  He also packed his purple basketball with Powercats on it.  The craziness of birthday week unfortunately meant I didn't get to make my basketball cake but at this rate Brayden will still like basketball at a future birthday.  Our friend Kate came through with basketball cookies and the bakery at HyVee provided a wonderful purple basketball on Brayden's cake.  In the end, that is all Brayden really wanted was a "Willie ball" on his cake.  We enjoyed the K-State football game on Saturday evening.  It was the first football game in Manhattan that I had been to since Brayden's 1st birthday party last year and I was really excited to be there with my two birthday boys.

Brayden is a very special little guy as both sets of grandparents, his uncles, Aunt Kristin and cousin Betsy all came to the lake to celebrate his birthday.
