Today was a big morning at our house!
Daddy woke me extra early. We piled into the car and headed to Crown Center for mommy's "comeback" race. It was her first race since my arrival and her return to running group. Mom says she feels very blessed to have such a supportive family. After months of coordinating schedules, workouts and long runs, we did it! Mommy finished the Hospital Hill Half Marathon (that's 13.1 miles!) on what was a beautiful Saturday morning to run through some of her favorite parts of Kansas City. It was a refreshing 53 degrees at the start of the race, and even though there were more hills than she remembered from previous Hospital Hills and this year's race made her much more tired than in the past, mommy had a huge smile on her face the entire time. We saw mommy around the one-mile mark and daddy saw her cross the finish line. I was fast asleep by then from all my cheering!
As for me, I loved being a spectator at my first race. Who wouldn't like being pushed around in a comfortable stroller on a gorgeous morning with literally thousands of people to watch! I cheered and rang my cowbell real loud. We are so proud of mommy but we are also very tired at our house, so good night!
