Father's Day

Brayden loves his "dada".  When the door opens in the late afternoon Brayden knows "dada" is coming around the corner.  We are practicing "hi dada" when Tim gets home from work.  Brayden likes to point out Tim's stuff.  It's always "dada, dada, dada" when we take Tim's shirts to the dry cleaners and when he walks past Tim's suits, running shoes and car.  Tim and Brayden's favorite things to do together right now are running in the stroller, swimming and reading a whole stack of books at bedtime.

We have had and continue to have several commitments related to the house and moving, so for Father's Day weekend Tim got to enjoy some of his favorite activities.  Saturday we went on a family run, to the pool, fixed ribs and sweet potato fries and watched a movie, though I am pretty sure both we fell asleep due to some late nights last week.  Sunday after church Tim and Brayden went on a long run, stopping several times to enjoy the trains, horses and playgrounds.  I fixed a waffle bar for brunch and rocky road cake for dessert.  In the evening my parents came from Salina for a short visit and it was nice to see my dad on Father's Day.  Brayden continues to love cars thanks to the push car our friends gave us to use.  Anytime he sees a car or picture of a car, he jerks towards it saying "car, car, car".  You can guess what was on Tim's Father's Day card!  This weekend we also traded in Tim's Camry for yet another Camry, our third consecutive one over the past several years.  This one black with 95,000 less miles!  Providing financial advice to the Northland sure puts miles on the vehicle but Brayden and I feel very blessed everyday that Tim loves his job and helping his clients yet always has time to spend with us.
