Brayden would rate the day as "fair" for his inaugural tailgating and game experience. We tailgated for a short time with our families, then watched the pre-game festivities. Brayden was very overwhelmed. He enjoyed watching the people and everyone enjoyed his "Jim Colbert" Wildcat hat made by my mom. The band and fireworks didn't startle him but Tim's loud "ball, ball, ball" at the first fumble upset him and he wasn't a fan of the crowd noise after that! We'll be going back to his noise-cancelling headphones from basketball season for Brayden's next game.
It was much hotter than anticipated on Saturday and this year's stadium construction brings extra obstacles, but it was still a very special memory for our little family of three. Brayden and I watched the first quarter of the game, spent the second quarter trying to get back to our car (construction!), and since we only planned to stay until half-time, we listened on the drive home to the Cats play great the second half and secure a Wildcat win. Brayden fell asleep as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot. He woke up for about two minutes when we arrived home. He was all smiles while we changed him as if to say, "Thank goodness...I was just making sure we were coming back home," then fell immediately back asleep until Sunday morning!
