Yes, you read that title correct, and yes, we know a roadtrip with a newborn less than three weeks old docks us points for parents of the year, but what can we say! Hopefully those of you reading this who have children can recall something a little unadvised that you did with your firstborn in the early weeks and cut us some slack!
We went to Salina last weekend so Brayden could meet the rest of Tim's family. Tim's grandma has been very ill for some time and we wanted to make sure she had a chance to meet her first great-grandchild. We were very happy that his grandma was having a good day when we were in town. She knew Brayden and was even able to hold him. Great-Grandma has been praying for Brayden for a long time
Brayden did excellent with the Blakes. He made us so proud! He was alert and let everyone hold him and never made a sound as he was passed from person to person and subjected to multiple pictures. All of this was after the three-hour car ride too. I think the roadtrip was harder on mommy than Brayden. Monday morning though Brayden did wake up with his first baby pimple!
Check out pictures from Brayden's first trip to Salina and try to figure out which of Tim's brothers our little guy most resembles:

Family Crib
This crib has been in the Diehl family for four generations. Brayden's great-grandpa was the first baby to sleep in it. Since then every Diehl baby, including Tim, has slept at least one night in this special family heirloom. |
