Thanksgiving was very special this year. We traded the suitcases, packing and road trip down I-70 for an opportunity to host our families for our first holiday in our new home. For that, I was truly thankful! Since we are always traveling and away from home for several days at the holidays, it almost felt like a luxury to spend a holiday in our own house. Tim handled a majority of the cooking with me serving as sous chef, housekeeper, decorator, and errand runner. Brayden cooperated wonderfully through all the preparation and was probably the only person in the grocery store line signing "more shopping" very enthusiastically.

Brayden chose Thanksgiving stamps to create handmade name cards for each place setting. He was very proud of his "project" as he called it. We also gave each person three strips of paper to record what they were thankful for this year. We connected the strips to create this Christmas garland hanging in Brayden's room during the holidays. Brayden was thinking solely "in the moment" when I asked him what he was thankful for - "stuffing, my Christmas tree and Santa" he said. Usually his list of what he is thankful for also sounds alot like his Christmas list so at least this time he was being extra creative!

And just in time for the holidays, we've had several recent wildlife sightings in our backyard. Our hunter friends are jealous. It is amazing how large and mature these Toms are and how close they come to the house. Boy, was that Thanksgiving bird yummy! If only...!
