Our family's favorite part of Halloween this year was trick-or-treating in Manhattan the Friday before Halloween. Aggieville businesses welcome hundreds of families as part of K-State's annual homecoming festivities. There is nothing better than trick-or-treating with your child at the same bars you frequented during college! Brayden caught onto the trick-or-treat thing quickly and told everyone "Happy Halloween" for days and even remembered "thank you" after receiving candy. He also learned to blow his ref's whistle, which he did repeatedly into Tim's ear! We watched the Homecoming parade and Brayden loved seeing all the Powercats, listening to the bands and waving at the sorority girls. The low-point of the parade occurred when Willie the Wildcat came flying towards Brayden for a high-five and Brayden shrieked very loudly. He loves to talk about Willie but isn't really into seeing him up close right now!
Brayden made spider cookies for the neighborhood kids. He was thrilled to be invited into one particular house while delivering his cookies, not because the family has five girls who were swooning over him, but because his favorite neighborhood dog "Oreo" lives there!
We visited a few houses on Halloween night but Brayden tired pretty early. He did very good walking up to the houses, but instead of knocking or ringing the doorbell, he usually pressed his face against the glass and peered inside until someone noticed him! He was relieved to return to the comfort of his own home and play trucks until someone came to our door. He'd give them candy, then quickly go back to his trucks!
